Dental Implants
After losing a tooth, you may feel too embarrassed to smile or you may hide your teeth when laughing. What’s more, a missing tooth can affect your chewing and can lead to crooked teeth and many more dental complications, including bone or gum disease. To prevent these issues and restore your smile, Dr. Crowley Correll uses dental implant restoration.
An implant is an artificial tooth root made of titanium, which is carefully placed into your jawbone by a specialist. This root is then topped with a dental restoration such as a crown or bridge. The implants provide a stable, long-lasting foundation for your restoration.
With dental implant restoration, you will be able to chew normally and smile with confidence. Your replacement teeth restore the function and look of your natural smile.
Crowns & Bridges
Broken teeth may happen for many reasons, such as accidents, trauma, severe decay, or a poor restoration.
At Carolyn Crowley Correll DDS, we can restore your smile while preserving your oral health. If you have a broken tooth, a crown may be the ideal option to fix your smile. A crown is a synthetic “cap” which is placed on top of a damaged tooth and renews it back to its original size and appearance. These restorations can help prevent your tooth from experiencing further damage and can restore its function.
If you have a missing tooth, then a bridge may the most favorable option. A dental bridge consists of two crowns on either side of an artificial tooth. The crowns are placed over the adjacent teeth and act as an anchor to hold the artificial tooth into place.
Whether your teeth are damaged or missing, our team will work with you to recover your smile in a durable and natural-looking way!
Metal-Free Fillings
When you suffer from tooth decay and cavities, a filling is needed to prevent any further damage. At our Charlotte dental practice, we use tooth-colored fillings. These not only fill your cavity but allow our team to maintain most of your natural tooth structure. Metal-free fillings use a tooth-colored composite resin to restore your teeth to an attractive, healthy state. These fillings blend in with your smile so only you and your dentist will know you have had a restoration!
Dr. Crowley Correll also offers inlays and onlays to restore damaged teeth. When the damage is too large for a traditional filling to repair, an inlay or onlay can be placed. These restorations act as partial replacements for missing parts of your teeth or to fill larger holes left by severe decay.
Tooth Extractions
Unfortunately, there are times when the best course of action is to remove your afflicted tooth. This is not something Dr. Crowley Correll takes lightly. She works with you to find the ideal solution to save your tooth. However, when this is not possible a simple tooth removal is performed.
Dr. Crowley Correll employs a genuine and compassionate approach during this procedure. She makes sure to put you at ease and numbs the area around the tooth. Once the tooth is pulled, she keeps the area clean and discusses your restoration options.
